Two games are shown: the left one has its Metacritic score revealed, the right one hidden. Answer whether the right score is more or less.
- Right — the right game moves left and a new pair appears
- Wrong — the round counts as a miss, the chain goes on
- 10 rounds in total; the chain is the same for every player
A chain never holds equal scores, so there is always exactly one right answer. Progress is kept in your browser, a new chain arrives at midnight.
The Budgets sub-mode compares pre-release development budgets — only loud public figures and estimates, so they are approximate. Equal sums never occur in a chain either.
The Sales sub-mode compares how many copies a game sold in its first year. Only games with an official publisher or studio figure dated close to the release anniversary made it in — so there are fewer games here than in the other sub-modes.
The approx. mark under a revealed value means there is no exact figure: the score is averaged across platforms, the budget was never named by the studio, or the sales number is rounded. The comparison stays fair either way — such games are of the same order of magnitude.
